The organic rice cultivation log records the entire care process for rice throughout its growth stages, from initial transplanting to harvest. The log is divided into specific weeks, detailing tasks such as replanting, fertilization, levee maintenance, pest control, and other activities to ensure that each growth stage of the rice is meticulously managed.
Week 1 & 2
Tend to seedlings, prepare the soil, transplant rice, and apply the first round of organic basal fertilizer.
Week 3
Remove snails, replant sparse areas, manage water levels, and maintain levees (retain water for 45–50 days to suppress weed growth).
Week 4 & 5
Apply the second round of organic fertilizer to promote tillering. Release ducks to control snails, weed the fields, and puddle the soil
Week 6
Spray rice with nutrients such as fish emulsion and fermented plant extracts, combined with indigenous microorganisms and herbal solutions to prevent pests and diseases.
Week 7
Focus on cutting weeds, and maintain levees to retain water
Week 8
Apply the second round of organic fertilizer in preparation for panicle initiation.
Week 9
Monitor the field, manage water levels following the alternate wetting and drying principle, and spray supplemental nutrients and herbal solutions to limit pests during panicle development.
Week 10
Ensure sufficient water supply, cut weeds along the field borders, and remove any mixed rice plants.
Week 11
Conduct the first application of fresh milk and egg solution to supply nutrients, shorten the flowering period between main and secondary panicles, and reduce grain shedding during harvest.
Week 12
Rice enters the flowering stage.
Week 13 & 14
Conduct the second application of fresh milk and egg solution during the milky grain stage to prevent empty grains, enhance yield and grain quality, and protect grain from diseases from post-flowering to ripening. Maintain moisture levels and cut weeds along the field borders to prevent pests during the final growth stage.
Week 15
Rice reaches the waxy ripeness stage. Drain water from the field and clean the field to facilitate harvest.
Week 16
Harvest the rice.
